Yes, I am very happy to announce that Sun Valley, Idaho is in the middle of our first snowfall of the season. I awoke Saturday morning to a nice three inch blanket of snow (not bad for mother nature’s first attempt of the season). The snow was a bit wet, but has not melted throughout the day.

Of course, the Sun Valley Resort has diligently been making snow at every opportunity. I can actually hear the loud snowmaker’s “whoosh” noise and see the manmade snow float down to the mountain from my home. However, it’s nice to have all your bases (and runs) covered!

I’m also happy to report that it has been flurrying all day. Also, more snow is expected tomorrow night and all day Monday!

I don’t want to be the party responsible and jinxing it all, but I believe winter has landed in Sun Valley! Can’t wait for you to join us!

Go to Sun Valley Online for more local infomation, or check out Ski Idaho: 2006-07 Ski Season.
