While trying to find the best price on airfare to Southwest Wyoming for my travel this August, I realized how busy it gets during the summer in the Northwest United States. As hot weather drenches the area with sunshine, the number of visitors increases greatly. In relation, so do the costs of travel! Here are some tips I’ve learned during my travel planning to the Northwest U.S.
- Determine what time of year is best for travel, by learning about climate and weather in the different regions. The Northwest United States, including Alaska has a variety of climate regions. For example, the state of Oregon consists of many different climates, all located in one state. From coastal rainforests, to grassland valleys, to high desert or alpine, realize what is in store for your visit. The off-season, or fall, winter and spring is a great time to get reduced prices on airfare and accommodations. Many regions in the Northwest experience warm weather during the early autumn months, with regions along the coastline experiencing the best weather of the year. Realize that putting off summer travel until the autumn can make a difference on price, and weather during your travel.
- Search extensively for the best price. Don’t just rely on one site for the best prices on airfare, accommodations or rental cars. I found that weighing the options for several different travel sites, gave me more options on departure/ arrival times, price and airlines. While I booked my flight to Wyoming, I viewed the options on Expedia, Priceline, Travelocity and even airline websites such as Southwest and Delta.
Be the savvy traveler by finding the best deal on travel, whether focusing on the price, options or amenities, research and weigh your options.
