Go ski Washington for this winter's 2006-2007 ski season! Read what's new for Mt. Baker, Mt. Spokane, The Summit at Snoqualmie, Crystal Mountain and Stevens Pass.

Washington’s skiing motto seems to be: if you can’t build a bigger mountain, build a park and pipe instead. All about an hour’s drive from Seattle, Washington are four ski resorts: The Summit at Snoqualmie, Crystal Mountain, Stevens Pass Ski Area and Mt. Baker. Read on to find out what's new with the Seattle area resorts and the Mt. Spokane Ski & Snowboard Park for 2006-2007.

The Summit at Snoqualmie-Snoqualmie Pass, Washington. Known for its ultimate terrain park, The Summit at Snoqualmie is only a 40-minute trip from Seattle. The Summit is not one mountain but four individual base areas: Alpetal, Summit West, Summit Central and Summit East.

Check out the amazing Superpipe and three individual terrain parks: Central Park, West 52nd and Progression Park. Check The Summit for more information.

Crystal Mountain-Crystal Mountain, Washington. Crystal Mountain is just under an hour’s drive from Seattle in Mount Rainier National Park. This season, look for live music every Friday and Saturday from 3-6pm. Go to Crystal Mountain for details.

Special Events: Santa’s in Town, December 23-26, 2006. Ski and get your picture taken with Santa!

2nd Annual Dummy Downhill, April 7, 2007. Build your own ski/snowboard platform and dummy rider to catch some big air. All entry fees are donated to the Crystal Mountain Fire Department. Remember, “no pulses please!”

Stevens Pass Ski Area-Skyomish, Washington. Stevens Pass is committed to improving their pipes and parks each new season. The resort is equally dedicated to improving the admittedly challenging drive from Seattle (78 miles) via highway US-2. Also, enjoy night skiing five times a week! Go to Stevens Pass for more information.

Mt. Baker-Bellingham, Washington. This season, at Mt. Baker 5th graders ski for free. To get a 5th Grade Free Card, go to Mt. Baker.

Special Events: Mt. Baker Legendary Banked Slalom Race, February 9-11, 2007. It’s so legendary, there was even a 2002 movie made about it! Remember, the only way to get your coveted race spot is by lottery application.

Mt. Spokane Ski & Snowboard Park-Mead, Washington. This completely non-profit mountain is just 23 miles from Spokane. Your ticket is completely tax-deductible!

“Pass It On” is Mt. Spokane’s program dedicated to teaching economically disadvantaged kids how to ski/snowboard. So, buy your ticket and invest in a child’s future. It will make for a happy day of skiing! Check out Mt. Spokane for details.

Enjoy skiing Washington!
