Planning on heading to Montana for this winter's 2006-07 ski season, read highlights from Big Sky Resort, Big Mountain and Lookout Pass Ski and Recreation Area.

Big Sky Resort and Big Mountain are the homes to some of the most unspoiled skiing in the North West United States. Lookout Pass Ski and Recreation Area is known for its hip youthful crowd and the thrill of skiing across the Montana/Idaho border. Read about what's new with Montana's ski resorts for 2006-2007. Big Sky Resort-Big Sky, Montana. The British Newspaper, The Sunday Times named Big Sky Resort one of the Top 10 Winter Resorts in the world. However the impressive recommendation, Big Sky is truly renowned for its peace, quite, and non-existing lift lines.

The resort recently added 212 acres of open bowl skiing. Big Sky Resort also offers tours of Yellowstone National Park. Take a tour by snow coach, snowmobile or snowshoe. Go to: Big Sky for more details.

Big Mountain-Whitefish, Montana. Big Mountain is happily located near beautiful Glacier National Park. The resort has a sense of laid back nostalgia, as it successfully keeps the “real world at bay.” However, The Reader Survey 2006 for Ski Magazine, has rated Big Mountain #27 for best overall ski resort in the Western United States.

New this season is a $10 million dollar state of the art ski lodge, complete with the all the ultimate amenities in skiing comfort. Big Mountain also offers Glacier National Park Tours. Lookout Pass Ski and Recreation Area-Wallace, Idaho. Lookout Pass spans both Idaho and Montana. There is simply something magical about skiing across the state-line. Check Lookout Pass for more information.

While Lookout Pass is currently constructing five new runs, lift construction won’t begin until next summer. However, there are three acres of new terrain open for this winter. Also, Lookout has a brand new lodge and “LOFT” its aprés ski bar on the top floor.
